Earthquake blog post

On the 14th of November 2016 in the early morning just about 12am Christchurch had a long rocking  earthquake. The earthquake damaged a few roads in Kaikoura. Some roads have really big deep cracks in the ground. And  big massive rocks from the cliffs fell onto the roads . Also  houses are damaged really badly. In Christchurch in New brighten had a warning to the people that lives really close to the beach.  Earthquakes are usually caused when rock underground suddenly breaks along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic waves that make the ground shake. When two blocks of rock or two plates are rubbing against each other, they stick a little. When the rocks break, the earthquake occurs.
